Notion Calendar for Researchers
Turn your research timeline into dates you can act on.
Notion to Calendar brings dated research milestones into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. Keep your thesis plan, paper tracker or fieldwork schedule in Notion, and see the next deadline alongside meetings and personal commitments.

How researchers use it
Example workflows for your Notion planner
Thesis timeline
Track proposal review, chapter drafts and submission as dated milestones. Keep detailed writing notes in Notion and use the calendar for the dates.
Paper submissions
Create entries for the abstract deadline, internal review and final submission. Give each stage a date so review time remains visible before the external deadline.
Fieldwork planning
Schedule individual visits and preparation blocks. Use generic event titles in a shared calendar rather than participant names or sensitive locations.
Supervisor meetings
Give each meeting a date and keep its agenda in Notion. Include a safe page link in the event if the intended calendar audience has access.
How to connect this workflow
Use the dates you already maintain in Notion.
- Create a milestone database with a title, Date property and research-project label.
- Date each submission, review or fieldwork occurrence separately.
- Connect the database to your calendar and use Premium filters if you need one calendar per project.
- Review shared event titles and descriptions; keep participant records and unpublished findings outside the calendar.
Premium direct Google and Outlook connections support two-way updates for supported, mapped non-recurring events. Shared iCal links and Apple Calendar feeds send dates from Notion to the calendar; the calendar app decides when to fetch changes. Configure reminders in your calendar app.

Questions from researchers
Does N2C manage research data?
No. It connects dated Notion entries to a calendar. It does not manage research records, ethics approvals, citation libraries or participant consent.
How is this different from the student use case?
The researcher workflow focuses on long-running milestones, submissions, fieldwork and collaboration. The student page focuses on assignments, exams and class timetables.
Will changing a milestone move every dependent task?
No. N2C follows the dates stored in Notion; it does not calculate project dependencies or move related milestones automatically.
Can I share deadlines without sharing research details?
Use a dedicated Premium Calendar Link with a narrow filter and selected event fields. Check both the title and description for sensitive details before distributing the link.

See all Premium features
- Several Notion workspaces, one account
- Connect your personal, work or client workspaces and choose which databases to use. Each workspace keeps its own permissions.
- Direct calendar connections
- Send Notion events to a dedicated Google calendar or connect Outlook. Google edits do not update Notion. Outlook two-way beta supports selected edits on linked, non-recurring events when enabled for your connection.
- Feeds for each project
- Create multiple feeds from a database. Apply filters or start from an existing Notion view with its date field, filter and name.
- The event details you need
- Choose titles and descriptions from Notion properties. Include locations, links and attachments in compatible iCal apps. Direct connections support their own set of mapped fields.
- More dates in your calendar
- Formula date fields are supported. Premium feeds fetch a broader event window than Free.
- Share a schedule by URL
- Share an iCal feed with people who do not use Notion. Anyone with the private URL can read that feed, so share it only with the intended recipients.
- Shorter feed caching
- Premium keeps the source feed fresh more often. Calendar apps still choose when to fetch iCal subscriptions. Direct Google and Outlook connections do not wait for that polling cycle; processing is asynchronous.
